GET WELL WISHES
Jerry Stapleton - Asphalt Modified Driver. Jerry has been taking treatments for cancer. This past week he was admitted into Ohio State University Hospital with pneumonia, a virus & irregular heart beat. As of Friday afternoon, he was doing some better, but has a long way to go. We will add any new updates as we get them.
Updated on Tuesday 5-7-2013, Jerry is out of ICU & into a private room. He is progressing very good, but is going to be in the hospital for a little while longer.
Barry Doss - Dirt Late Model Driver. Barry suffered a heart attack at Moler Raceway Park on Friday night after his heat race. Updates on Saturday morning is they put one stint in & they have him in an induced coma.
Updated on Monday 5-6-2013, Barry is out of the coma, is alert &communicating with his Family.

*Another DARF Track Date has been added to our list of dates by Moler Raceway Park. Friday April 26th for a FREE night of racing takes the place of the rain out from last week.
*The 2013 DARF Hall of Fame Nomination Ballots are being completed & will be mailed out to the Voting Committee around May 1st.
*Our Monthly Membership meetings are done for the summer, the next Meeting will be in September. Enjoy your summer at the races.

January Membership Meeting:
The meeting was held on Tuesday, January 22nd at the Little York Tavern & Pizza. This was our first meeting held at Little York Tavern& a good turn out of members were in attendance for President's Night.
We would like to thank the past Presidents for coming out & speaking on the history of the DARF Club. Those in attendancewere Jerry Wahl, Bernie Coppock, Karen Beattie, Don Wilbur, Marvin Goins & Bobby Sparks.Jason Soudrette was awarded the Gene Bundy Memorial Award at the Banquet of Champions this past year. Jason was unable to attend the Banquet, so he made a point to come to this month's meeting to receive his award. DARF would like to congratulate him on receiving this award & a big thank you for attending the meeting.Dick Dunlevy Jr. also got up & spoke about going to the NASCAR Banquet & receiving his awards at their Banquet.Dick also told a little about his 45 years of driving race cars.
DARF Track Dates:
As always at this time of year the Track Dates start to roll in. Check out the listings on the DARF Dates page here on the web-site for all the updates. A new track for the Members this year is BMI Indoor Speedway in Versailles, Ohio. BMI is welcoming all DARF Members to their track for the remainder of their season at either a reduced or FREE admission, they will have dates until the end of March. Their schedule alternates between Karts, Quarter Midgets & RC Cars. You can check out the schedule at www.bmikarts.com or by calling 937-526-9547.
Daytona 500 Party:
DARF along with the Little York Tavern will be hosting a Daytona 500 Party this year on February 24th. Doors will open at 12 noon with the race starting around 1:15. Little York will have a full menu available to purchase, plus there will be raffle tickets to purchase for many prizes to be given out. This is just another way for the Club to make a little money to help operate the Club. So plan on attending & help support DARF, this is open to the public so bring along some friends for an afternoon of racing on the big screens.
February Membership Meeting:
Our Membership Meeting for February will be Driver's Night. We encourage all Drivers to come out & speak on behalf of their teams about their plans for the upcoming season. You do not have to be a member to be a speaker & we will welcome all drivers to attend. This should be another enjoyable night for our membership. More info will be posted.

Once again this year DARF has a great line-up of dates at all of the local Tracks.
First off DARF needs to thank all of the Tracks & Promoters for supporting our Club & it's Members. They are the ones that make this happen.
Second, before you head out to the track, check your DARF cards to make sure they are current, Tracks will not honor cards that have expired.
Third, tell a friend or family member about what DARF has to offer them, just maybe you can get them to become members also. Check out the DARF dates line up here on the website & start making plans for your summer at the Tracks.
Fourth, should you experience any problems at a DARF event, rather than create a scene, please contact the DARF representative present at the event so the proper actions can be taken. Remember the tracks are honoring the club with DARF dates.
Thank them & tell them how much we appreciate them.
