CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to DARF members Justin Grant and Matt Westfall on their participation at the Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, OK. Justin finished third out of 365 competitors for the week. Matt made his way to the D Main on Saturday after a tangle with another competitor during the week and a long week of putting their car back together

Proud of all of our local drivers and crews who represented the strong race competition we have in our area

Help Requested from OVKA

OVKA has been a great supporter of DARF and have forwarded this request for any help

Ladies and Gentlemen

Most of you know how OVKA was formed in the mid-60's, however many of you don't know the man that formed the organization, Ron Withrow

Ron is in trouble.  His home in Sarasota Florida, a double wide mobile unit, was damaged in a rain storm.  The roof separated at the peak while Ron and Carma, his wife were gone visiting family up north when this occurred.  They were gone two months, and during that time their home interior was destroyed, walls, floor and sub floor.  Ron is my age in his mod 70's and has no insurance to cover this damage as it isn't available to him, so he's forced to cover the repairs out of pocket

Ron is on Social Security as you might imagine, and is working on the job as money comes available.  However, the cost of repair is estimated to be in excess of $20,000, so you can see that it's going to take some time for his to repair his home

Some of his friends have sent him cash to assist him, but it's not enough to keep him working on the task

Since Ron founded OVKA and assisted if founding WKA, you can see he's been involved in Karting all his adult life.  If it weren't for Ron, there would be no OVKA, and Karting as we know it in this area would not be what it is if not for his effort

I am trying to gather enough interest to collect money to help him out.  I am not asking to have it sent to me, rather send it to

Ron Withrow

I'm sorry, but there is no phone number available for him for obvious reasons

Any amount will be appreciated, I'm sure.  If you have any questions, feel free to call me on my cell, (937) 441-6363.  There aren't many of us "old-timers" left around that remember Ron and his effort in support on Karting

Respectfully

"
"WELCOME TO DARF COUNTRY"

Once again this year DARF has a great line-up of dates at all of the local Tracks.

First off DARF needs to thank all of the Tracks & Promoters for supporting our Club & it's Members. They are the ones that make this happen.

Second, before you head out to the track, check your DARF cards to make sure they are current, Tracks will not honor cards that have expired.

Third, tell a friend or family member about what DARF has to offer them, just maybe you can get them to become members also. Check out the DARF dates line up here on the website & start making plans for your summer at the Tracks.

Fourth, should you experience any problems at a DARF event, rather than create a scene, please contact the DARF representative present at the event so the proper actions can be taken. Remember
the tracks are honoring the club with DARF dates.

Thank them & tell them how much we appreciate them.
